Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026
Overturn helps people appeal health insurance denials. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it. "Overturn", "we" and "us" mean Silver Goose Global LLC, doing business as Overturn.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to review and help with your denial.
- We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
- We share it only with the services that run Overturn, and with your insurer or doctor only when you authorize us to.
- You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Information we collect
What you tell us in our intake form: your email address, what was denied (for example, a medication or a test), your insurer's name, where your insurance comes from (for example, an employer or Medicare), whether you have your denial letter, roughly when you got the denial, a short description of what happened, and whether you're open to a call. We ask you not to include diagnoses, member IDs or documents in the form.
If we take your case: to file an appeal, we may ask for your denial letter, explanation of benefits, insurance card and similar records, and for your signed authorization to act for you and to request records from your insurer and providers. We collect these separately, through a secure process we explain at the time, and only with your consent.
If you pay: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as your name, email and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number.
Automatically: when you visit our website, our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, for security and to keep the site running. We record which website or link brought you to us (for example, a link with a campaign tag) so we know how people find us. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
How we use it
- To review your denial and reply to you.
- If you hire us, to prepare and file your appeal and follow up with your insurer and providers on your behalf.
- To process payments and refunds.
- If you agree, to talk with you about your experience so we can improve Overturn.
- To understand, in aggregate and without identifying you, which kinds of denials people face and which appeals succeed.
- To keep our services secure and to meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We share information only as described here, and only as much as each party needs:
- Service providers that run Overturn: Google (Workspace, where we store submissions and send email), Vercel (website hosting) and Stripe (payments). They process information on our behalf under their own security and confidentiality commitments.
- Your insurer, health plan, providers and appeal reviewers: only when you have authorized us to act for you, and only to pursue your appeal.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of you, us or others.
- Business transfers: if Overturn is merged or sold, your information would transfer only under the same protections described in this policy, and we would tell you first.
We share information electronically through these services' secure systems, by email, or through insurers' and providers' official channels (such as their portals, fax or mail) when filing an appeal.
We do not sell your personal information or health information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
How we protect it
- Our website uses HTTPS, so information is encrypted in transit.
- Submissions are stored in a private account that only the Overturn team can access.
- We collect the minimum information needed and keep sensitive documents out of our intake form.
- We review who has access and remove it when it's no longer needed.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.
How long we keep it
If we don't take your case, we delete your intake submission within 12 months. If we do, we keep case records for as long as we're working on your appeal and for a limited period afterwards, as needed for legal, tax and accounting purposes, and then delete them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, by emailing hello@useoverturn.com. We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California, Washington, Nevada or Connecticut), you may have additional rights over your personal or consumer health information, including the right to withdraw consent. We honor those requests for everyone, wherever they live, and we will never treat you differently for making one.
Not legal or medical advice
Overturn is not a law firm, health plan or medical provider. Nothing we send you is legal or medical advice, and we can't guarantee any outcome.
Children
Overturn is for adults. If you're helping a child with a denial, you must be their parent or legal guardian. We don't knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll ask for your consent first.
